Earlier this summer it was revealed that Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn was working on a TV treatment for the 1968 cinematic adaptation of the French sci-fi comic, Barbarella. The crime-fighting femme fabulous was made famous by Jane Fonda in the, for its day, rather scandalous film.
Deadline now reports that James Bond scribes Neal Purvis And Robert Wade have been tapped to write the series, which will be helmed by Refn. The writing team has penned five Bond films including the most recent, Skyfall. Refn will also produce in a partnership with Gaumont International Television and Martha De Laurentiis.
