Silver Reel and Lotus Entertainment are now teaming with di Bonaventura Pictures to make an English language remake of South Korea's Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, the first part in the Vengeance Trilogy.
According to Deadline, Broken City scribe Brian Tucker had written the script, about two men who are bound by their common sense of loss and headed on a collision course of revenge. The story is followed by Oldboy, which is also getting an Americanized remake from Film District and director Spike Lee, due out this October. (A remake of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is in development with Charlize Theron attached to star.)
