Sharknado 2 Title & Release Date Announced Aug 9th 2013, 00:13, by Max Nicholson We haven't heard much about the eagerly anticipated Sharknado 2 since it was first announced in July, but now Syfy has announced an official title and release date for the upcoming sequel. After reviewing more than 5,000 Twitter submissions to its "Name Sharknado 2" social media contest, the network announced that the official title will be Sharknado 2: The Second One. "Since Twitter played such a huge role in the success of the original movie, we wanted to use that platform to ask our fans to name Sharknado 2," said Thomas Vitale, EVP of Syfy Programming and Original Movies. "This response is another reminder of how Sharknado has become a pop culture phenomenon.
