Nintendo Copyright Claim Kills Metroid Fan Film on Kickstarter

The Metroid: Enemies Within fan film, which took to Kickstarter for funding assistance, has been shut down due to Nintendo disputing the copyright ownership. The Enemies Within page is currently down, and reads, "Metroid: Enemies Within (A Metroid Fan Film) is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable."

Nintendo's DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice reads, "Nintendo owns copyrights in all aspects of its Metroid video game franchise and related products, including but not limited to the characters, storylines, audiovisual, pictorial and graphic works" of its various games.
