Even compared to the fancy Unreal-powered competition, I'm not sure if I've ever seen a mobile game quite as pretty as Paper Titans. But it's more than just a pretty face; there's actually a very competent puzzle game under all those impressive paper graphics. It may have an occasionally bothersome camera and an unfortunate lens filter, but it's competent and impressive all the same.
You'll begin your journey through Paper Titans by putting a friend together. No, really – you get to fold up a virtual papercraft critter who then jumps to life on the screen. It's a rather neat process that both looks cool and can be kind of fun since you're not always certain what you're going to end up making until it's finished. Each of them has a specific function, too. Collectors are the only ones who can gather stars and finish a level, Throwers can toss other characters to new areas, Exploders will blow up certain obstacles to clear a path, and so on. Knowing when and where to use all of them is what makes getting through each level such an interesting challenge.
