Director Chris Columbus is teaming up with Adam Sandler for Hello Ghost, a remake of a Korean supernatural comedy recently set up at Universal Pictures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sandler is set to star in the film about a man who, after failing an attempt at suicide, is plagued by the arrival of four ghosts who won't leave him alone until he helps them right their past. Columbus will direct and produce the picture under his 1492 Pictures banner. Karen Croner (Admission) wrote the script.
Meanwhile, Columbus has also partnered with Blue Ocean Entertainment for a Santa Claus-themed spec script called 12/24. THR says that Short Circuit writer Matt Lieberman wrote the script, based on an idea by David Guggenheim (Safe House). The story centers on "two brothers who attempt to prove the existence of Santa Claus and eventually join up with St. Nick on a sleigh ride that runs into trouble."
