Things are ramping up big time in X-O Manowar. War is coming; the Vine are arriving at Earth and the invasion is beginning. Aric is ready for to wage a one man war against the invaders and we, the readers, get a front row seat to the awesomeness. Of course, if you have read the synopsis of Planet Death, you know how this going to work out for the Vine, but that's okay. This is just big, comic book fun and that is in no way a bad thing.
Robert Venditti is becoming a bonafide comic book superstar. His handling of this title has been spectacular since the first issue. He knows how to pace a book. The first half of this issue seems like it's all prelude, like all we are going to get is setup. Then, suddenly, there's an armored battle in the sky and X-O is cutting aliens in half and holy crap this thing is awesome. Any week that X-O Manowar comes out is a good week.
