Community: "Conventions of Space and Time" Review

When Sony and NBC sent out an advance screener for Community: Season 4, there were two episodes included – the premiere, and this episode, "Conventions of Space and Time" And while I liked the premiere, "Conventions" felt particularly weak for this series.

It's a shame too, since there were plenty of elements here that could have made something great. The idea of taking the gang to an Inspector Spacetime convention is fun, and there were two awesome guest stars involved, playing big Spacetime fans – Matt Lucas (Little Britain) and Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica). Lucas at least had a nice amount of screentime and some decent moments, though his storyline still felt rushed. But Helfer felt wasted, playing a too-brief, winky role as the uber-fan of just the sort of sci-fi series she is known for.
