Wolverine and the X-Men #24 Review

Arguably the most interesting character in recent issues of Wolverine and the X-Men has been Idie Okonkwo, a conflicted young mutant. Her brush with Max of the new Hellfire Club during the Murder Circus arc was just the latest chapter of a deepening tale that dates back to her odd couple pairing with Broo, the lovable and currently unconscious Brood. In this week's issue, Idie returns to Broo's side, as writer Jason Aaron focuses on the love lives of his Merry Mutants.

In all, there are four bouts of romance in this issue, but only two are worth the space they occupy. The aforementioned reconnection between Idie and Broo is a winner that leads to a pretty fantastic final page. Another flame of days gone by – the one emblazoned across the cover of this issue – performs surprisingly well, also. The emotion whips up rather quickly, but the flirtation between Wolvie and Storm is well-written.
