Ultimate-Comics_X-Men_30-674x1024Kitty Pryde tried to give peace a chance, but now Jean Grey has forced her hand. And to think at one point the Ultimate Marvel Universe was a place for stories free of continuity; the place is hardly recognizable now. Kitty's determination to be peaceful was so strong that I was surprised to see it break so easily here. She went from Gandhi to Rambo in the blink of an eye. The idea of World War X is intriguing, and certainly has a palpable amount of tension behind it, but the story is in danger of not living up to its potential if the characters don't get their act together.
