I began writing this review sitting in a coffee shop shortly after the screening, continued from the comfort of my bed that night, and finished at the IGN offices today. You are reading it from any number of locations, on any number of devices: your phone, PC, or yes, your iPad. It's hard to imagine a time when the idea of mobile devices and computers the size of your palm was the stuff of science fiction, but there was such a time, and it wasn't much more than a generation ago.
The speed and scale of the shift made living icons of the pioneers who helped usher in the current technological revolution. There are few who were more the "face" of the computer age than Steve Jobs, though the reclusive Bill Gates stands as an intriguing, if far more remote, figure.
