While he's had notable parts in UK series, it's safe to say Iain De Caestecker is a new face to most American viewers. But that will change soon thanks to his role in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. De Caestecker plays Agent Leo Fitz, who provides the team's tech support, alongside Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
I spoke to De Caestecker about his role on the series and working with Joss Whedon on the Marvel TV spinoff.
IGN: What can you tell us about Leo Fitz?
De Caestecker: My character, he's Engineering, so he's on the computer and tech side of everything. He's consumed within that world, and he works very closely with Simmons, who's Biochem. They've got this kind of weird chemistry together, and they just kind of fit each other in a very weird way. So everyone on the team has got their own specific thing that they do and their own positives and negatives. It just kind of works in that way.
