Back in 2001, Marvel Comics finally took a leap they'd avoided for quite some time -- to tell the definitive origin of the most popular X-Man, Wolverine. Paul Jenkins and Andy Kubert established that Logan was born James Howlett with a brother named Dog, sons of plantation owners in 19th century Canada. The mini-series ran for six issues.
During the Marvel Cup O' Joe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the publisher revealed Wolverine Origin II, a follow-up mini-series written by Kieron Gillen with art by Adam Kubert. Origin II will return to the earlier days of Wolverine as he finds himself in something of a feral era, struggling to rediscover civilization. Marvel promises to depict some early encounters with some of his greatest adversaries, including a Gillen favorite -- Mr. Sinister.
