Watch the First Major Evo Qualifying Event Jan 19th 2013, 00:23 The Southern California Regionals 2013 fighting game tournament is running live this weekend from Irvine, California. SCR is the first of four fighting game tournaments with implications for this year's major Evo event. Players are competing in various fighting games, including: Super Street Fighter IV Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 King of Fighters 13 PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Soul Calibur V Dead or Alive 5 Virtua Fighter 5 Persona 4 Arena Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Southern California Regionals is included in "The Road to Evo," which means players that place well at SCR will earn points that improve their bracket seeding at Evo. Evo is the annual international fighting game tournament that attracts players from all over the world. Last year, players from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and more competed at Evo in matches of Super Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and other popular fighting games.
