Sometimes, all you want to do is beat on some suckers, ninja-style. Sometimes, you want that action as simple as possible, if stylishly presented. Sometimes, you just want something fairly kid-friendly set in a universe that you know any love. Naruto Powerful Shippuden for the 3DS scratches all those itches, and looks good doing it.
At its core, it's pretty simple. You'll take chibi (small, but with oversized heads and stubby limbs) versions of either Rock Lee or Naruto into a long series of single-screen 2D brawls. There, you'll fend off waves of enemies, from wolves to other ninjas. It's easy to play, with two attack buttons – one for basic and one special chosen before fights – and fights move quickly, with enemies hopping in and getting punched out at a rapid pace.
