Angry Birds Cartoon Launches Next Week Mar 11th 2013, 17:29 Later this weekend, Rovio Entertainment will debut its weekly animated series Angry Birds Toons, based on the popular game franchise. According to Deadline, the first of 52 episodes will air on March 16, hitting broadcast TV in international territories including Australia, Korea, India, Finland, Israel, France, Germany, Norway and Brazil. Then on March 17, Rovio will release the episode via Comcast's Xfinity on-demand channel in the US, as well as the Angry Birds Toons channel in the Angry Birds app. When Rovio's head of animation Nick Dorra made the announcement last year, he said the series was about "telling more engaging stories... and deeper thoughts, deeper feelings of the characters, such as why are they always angry."
