This issue of Uncanny X-Men isn't the strongest because it acts as a segue more than anything else. Brian Michael Bendis touches on the young mutants learning to use their powers, Magneto's relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D., and the positive public opinion towards mutants, but all of these developments feel like baby steps towards something else. If you've been enjoying the humorous banter and quirky personalities that Bendis has filled his pair of X-books up with, then you'll still be entertained, but you'll have to wait for another issue for something truly exciting to happen.
