Trinity War has turned into more of a Trinity Shuffle as we get another issue of characters moving around from place to place to investigate the mystery of Pandora's Box, among other secrets. Banter between characters keeps it lively and fun, but the overall plot still feels like a wild goosechase. With nearly two dozen heroes filling up every ounce of panel space, the reading experience becomes stretched thin as writers Geoff Johns and Jeff Lemire try to find something for everyone to say or do. The result is an event comic that has two more issues to go yet still hasn't decided exactly what this story is really about.
Mentioned briefly earlier on, Dr. Psycho finally makes his debut. Martian Manhunter's fistful of members from the three Justice Leagues tracks him down to get some answers, but after waiting this long, it's hard to say the scene felt satisfying. Also, this creepy-as-hell Dr. Psycho reads nothing like his current characterization in the Superboy series, which creates a jarring experience for anyone also reading that title.
