Our revisiting of Batman's origin story continues in Batman #23, the third installment of Zero Year. As we've said before, exploring Bruce Wayne's road to the Bat is nothing new – finding a fresh way to tell the tale is. While the story got off to something of a slow start with the first two issues, series writer Scott Snyder is now hitting his stride, and it's a confident one. With artist Greg Capullo, inker Danny Miki, and colorist FCO Plascencia serving up their best with the book's visuals, Batman #23 is everything one could ask for in an origin story retelling and then some. Snyder and company tread familiar ground, but throw in enough curveballs to keep you pleasantly surprised.
