Defiance: Season 1 Review Jul 17th 2013, 04:16 Warning: full spoilers for Defiance: Season 1 follow. Don't you miss the days when a cable channel's name was an actual indicator of the types of programming it aired? Instead, everything from The Learning Channel to The Discovery Channel to The History Channel is inundated with lame, cookie-cutter reality TV about rednecks hunting alligators and digging through storage lockers and whatnot. SyFy has often been guilty of the same crime too, forgoing shows devoted to actual science fiction for wrestling and reality TV about ghost hunting. But SyFy hasn't completely forgotten its roots, and they proved that by adding Defiance to their primetime lineup this summer.
