Set in Chile and revolving around a devastating earthquake, Aftershock is a schizophrenic feature that fuses comedy, horror and the disaster movie, with varying degrees of success.
Written by Eli Roth (alongside Guillermo Amoedo and director Nicolas Lopez), the film kicks off in much the same vein as his 2005 horror Hostel, introducing the audience to three guys who are looking for girls, booze, and the best fiesta in town.
In this case it's Chileans Ariel (Ariel Levy) and Pollo (Nicolas Maretinez) and their American friend whom they rather unimaginatively nickname Gringo (Roth himself).
