As of right now, setting up a Minecraft server takes a bit of technical know-how. Developer Mojang is looking to change that with Minecraft Realms, a user-friendly subscription service that hosts servers for you, as Polygon reports.
"I remember early on we had parents coming knocking on our office door and asking us to provide such service because they were tired of being server administrator at home," said Carl Manneh, co-founder and CEO of Mojang.
With the service, Mojang will be looking to standardize how mods work on the Realms servers. The team is planning to make mod tools that would ensure mods created would not break the game for paying subscribers and their friends.
