Vin Diesel Will Play Kojak Dec 17th 2012, 20:25 Two veteran James Bond movie screenwriters will bring the classic small screen cop Kojak to the big screen with none other than Vin Diesel in the title role of NYPD Lieutenant Detective Theo Kojak. According to Deadline, Universal has tapped Neal Purvis & Robert Wade (Skyfall, Die Another Day) to script Kojak. Diesel will also produce the film with Samantha Vincent. The TV series ran on CBS from 1973-78 and made Savalas, then best known for (usually bad guy) roles in films such as On Her Majesty's Secret Service and The Dirty Dozen, into an international sex symbol.
