The first arc of Captain Marvel was a heavy time travel tale that was big in concept and heart. It was emotional and stunning. This arc is about Captain Marvel punching a very big robot. It's silly, fun and a tiny, tiny bit emotional. This is good issue of great series that everyone -- including you, buddy -- should be reading.
Kelly Sue DeConnick is joined by Christopher Sebela on writing duties and the results are pretty good. It's a hundred percent clear who is writing what here, but I'll bet dollars to donuts that DeConnick is still handling the dialogue. The snappy wit that this series has become known for is intact here. The characters drive this story, which really doesn't add to much more than "let's keep punching the giant robot." It's a fun read, but never really feels threatening or important. It's just something for Carol to punch, which is not exactly a bad thing.
