
Neowiz. It may not be a name that rolls off the tongue when you think of MMORPG developers, but along with other big players such as NCsoft, Nexon and Webzen, they're part of a contingent of South Korean game devs and publishers who have been looking to dominate the online PC gaming space worldwide.
Neowiz has a long history in the digital gaming business, albeit starting from a slightly different place than many other game companies. Founded in 1997, Neowiz developed a service that allowed users to access the Internet in a less convoluted manner than the complicated manual dial-up protocols at the time. With SayClub, they also dabbled in social networking and casual gaming over the years, and eventually split into five divisions, with Neowiz Games as one of the flagship groups.
