Disney Shows Off Marvel's Big Hero 6 Movie Aug 10th 2013, 03:15, by Jim Vejvoda Walt Disney Animation Studios presented fans at today's D23 Expo with a look at the story, concept art and a brief sizzle reel from their upcoming animated Marvel Comics adaptation Big Hero 6. Director Don Hall introduced the presentation of Bg Hero 6, citing the Marvel title's lack of familiarity with the general public as a bonus for allowing them some creative freedom. The protagonist of the film is Hiro Hamada, a teenage robotics prodigy in the high-tech city of San Fransokyo (yes, a mashup of Tokyo and San Francsico). Hiro's best friend is a robot named Baymax, whose look Hall says was inspired by actual inflatable, cuddlier robots that Japanese scientists are developing.
