Thor is Coming to Disneyland Aug 21st 2013, 01:25, by Eric Goldman While we still are waiting for Disneyland to go big when it comes to incorporating Marvel Comics elements (as in - rides!!), there will be the first inclusion of a Marvel character into the park this fall, in the form of the God of Thunder himself, Thor. On the official Disney Parks Blog, it was revealed that visitors to Disneyland this fall will be able to meet Thor, in conjunction with the upcoming release of Thor: The Dark World. Disney can't use any Marvel elements at Walt Disney World in Florida (or the east coast in general), thanks to pre-existing contracts with Universal Studios Orlando Resort, but Disneyland in California is fair game. Slowly but surely, Disney has been introducing Marvel elements into their pre-existing Parks and Resorts offerings, Walt Disney World aside.
