EA and BioWare announced today the development of Heroes of Dragon Age, due out later this year for iPhone and Android devices. The freemium download lets players purchase and collect 3D figures of key characters from the Dragon Age universe, form them into a squad, and then battle human and AI-controlled foes.

HoDA is being developed by EA Capital Games, a studio previously known The KlickNation, developers of hit social games Superhero City and Age of Champions.
"We all like CCGs, RPGs, and squad-based tactics games, but they can be a little niche. The idea for Heroes of Dragon Age was to take those ideas and make them more strategic," Executive Producer Jeferson Valadares told IGN. "We set out to make an accessible strategy RPG that takes full advantage of the Dragon Age universe's cool characters and locations."
