Batwoman #23 is, like many of the issues that came before it, a really, really pretty comic book. The artwork is stunning. There are a several double-page spreads that are simply jaw dropping. Thanks to an extended dream sequence, we get to see horrific nightmares come to life, page after page. Faces melt, blood drips off the borders, and so much more. The story is good, but it doesn't match the intensity of that art. Not by a long shot.
