Sylvester McCoy, the actor who played the seventh incarnation of The Doctor from 1987-89, has denied being approached to appear in the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who which is due to broadcast this November.
Speaking with IGN whilst promoting The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey DVD and Blu-ray release, we asked the actor whether he'd heard anything from Doctor Who show runner Steven Moffat about appearing in the special, and he told us: "No. Nothing. Niet. Zilch. The other day I was with Tom Baker, Peter, and Colin – the 20th century Who-ers, and Tom asked 'Well, little man, have you heard anything?' and I told him 'No, I haven't heard anything.'
