Debuting this Sunday, Vikings is an ambitious new venture for History, as the cable channel branches out with a big new scripted series.
From Michael Hirst, the writer of Elizabeth and the creator of The Tudors, Vikings focuses on Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a Viking warrior setting out to explore – and raid -- the distant shores across the ocean. The cast also includes Gabriel Byrne, Gustaf Skarsgard, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, Jessalyn Gilsig and George Blagden.
