Brian Michael Bendis does a wonderful thing here where he has Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson -- two characters who know a great deal about Spider-Man's history -- fill in Miles Morales on everything he needs to know about Peter Parker and Venom. It's refreshing for both the protagonist and the reader to be put on the same playing field because from now on every new development will be a surprise to both. The downside of this is that this issue does nothing but deliver backstory and connect dots most people probably already figured out.
