Warning: Spoilers for "The Fall" follow...

A question many viewers have had since the pilot episode of The Following was: How long can this game of cat-and-mouse last with one of the players stuck behind a table? Well, we have our answer – seven episodes! Joe Carroll has been unleashed onto the world as what he refers to as the "first portion" of his living novel comes to a close.

"Let Me Go" solidified this show as one that exists in a heightened fantasy realm with very little attachment to reality. We've known that for several weeks, though. As I've mentioned previously, it's not so much that the circumstances are heighted. The circumstances are heightened on many shows and may include dragons, zombies or huge crime syndicates, in fact. The real issue when deciding if a television series reads as grounded is the behavior.
