Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Goes Free to Play

Want to shoot Nathan Drake in the face without spending a dime? Well, your day has come. Today – when the PlayStation Store updates – Uncharted 3's multiplayer will be free to download and play.

As you might expect, there are some restrictions. The competitive multiplayer is free up to Level 15; co-op modes aren't included in the FTP client. However, Naughty Dog wants to give you options. If you want to raise the Level Cap to 25, it'll cost you $4.99. If you want to remove the Level Cap restrictions, it'll cost $19.99. If you want Co-op Arena, it's $9.99. If you want Co-op Adventure, it's $11.99.

Is this an attempt to save a fledgling multiplayer component?

"The answer really is no," said Uncharted 3 Game Director Justin Richmond. "We really just wanted to add to that community as easily as we could."
