When the New 52 first began, most of DC's books were relatively isolated from one another. But as time has passed, we've seen DC focus more on exploring the shared universe their heroes operate in. That has involved major crossover like "Night of the Owls" and "Death of the Family" as well as crossovers between two specific titles, as in the case of "Rotworld" and "Throne of Atlantis."
"Rotworld" wrapped up this week in the pages of Animal Man #17 and Swamp Thing #17. This crossover will have a lasting impact on both books. For Snyder, next month's issue #18 marks the end of his run. For Lemire, "Rotworld" is merely the culmination of one chapter in a larger saga. We had a chance to talk with both writers earlier this week, where they discussed the development of the story, what it means for both Alec Holland and Buddy Baker, and teased what's coming up in future storylines. We also have some new preview art from next month's post-Rotworld issues.
