Relic Rush is a great example of what's possible when a single simple gameplay idea is executed with confidence and competence. The game stars an 8-bit mustachioed tomb raider climbing through bite-sized 2D stages. The catch is that gamers don't control our intrepid hero directly – he automatically climbs ladders, jumps gaps and moves through each stage. Gamers tap and hold the screen to stop him from moving, (hopefully) avoiding each stage's numerous timed deathtraps in the process.
