John Constantine faces a similar problem now to the one Frank Castle did last year. There are two distinct versions of the character being published by DC right now. And just as with PunisherMAX, the mature-readers version of Constantine seen in Hellblazer is tied to a specific time period and can't remain eternally youthful like his DCU counterpart. Sooner or later, this older, craggier John Constantine has to die. Cue Hellblazer #300, which aims to give this long-running series and its star the send-off they deserve. For the most part, it succeeds.
