Without a doubt, the standout character of Harbinger is Faith. She's funny, daring, and genuine. There's something so endearing about her. Harbinger focuses on her for the majority of the issue, and it's good stuff. This might not be the greatest issue of Harbinger, but it's a damn fun one thanks to the best flying heroine around.

Joshua Dysart is a little bit up and down here, at times nailing the characters perfectly, but doing so with methods that may very quickly date the series. Faith tracks time and dates using her vast knowledge of geek culture. Something didn't happen "a long time ago," it happened when Two Towers was in the theater. These references are funny and tell us a lot about her, but the barrage of pop culture references lock Harbinger into a particular time and place. The universal nature of the story fades. Also, Faith getting stuck in a window is totally unnecessary.
