In the four days that have passed since it was released, users have installed the much-anticipated Evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 6 on over 7 million devices, Cydia founder Jay Freeman told Forbes.
iPhone and iPad users have been eagerly awaiting an untethered jailbreak since Apple introduced iOS 6 in September, but due to rigid security protocols, programmers had been unable to crack the mobile OS. The software allows users to run programs developed and distributed outside the rigid guidelines of Apple's iTunes App Store, such as retro game ROMs and home screen widgets and themes.
