EA, Zynga Settle Copyright Infringement Suit

Court documents released today show that both EA and Zynga have settled out of court over lawsuits regarding The Sims Social and copyright infringement.

Back in August of last year, EA filed suit against Zynga on the grounds that The Ville infringed upon The Sims Social. EA believed that Zynga copied and stole elements from The Sims Social, which released over a year earlier. A month later, in September of 2012, Zynga filed a countersuit claiming that EA's lawsuit was "baseless" and that EA put out a hiring freeze to other companies on Zynga employees, among other unlawful practices.
